Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, activist, businesswoman, fashion designer and actress. Born and raised in New York City, she primarily studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and briefly attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts before withdrawing to focus on her musical career. She soon began performing in the rock music scene of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Lady Gaga took the pop radio world over by storm with songs like Poker Face and The Fame, with its quirky beats and her impressive vocals. The album contains heavy amounts of synthetic beats, making the music almost otherworldly at times but still retaining an impressive rhythm you can dance to. Many of the songs are energetic affairs, while others are much more down tempo like Paparazzi, giving listeners plenty of variety to select tracks to suit their mood. Lady Gaga mixes all of this with her unusual sense of fashion which adds to the ethereal quality of the album as a whole, making it a highly appealing experience.
Critical Evaluation:
Lady Gaga’s daring style of pop, synthetic beats, and wide variety of styles from the upbeat to smooth tracks like Brown Eyes will likely appeal to lovers of dance-style music and those looking for something a little different in their music. The songs are catchy, likely leading listeners to hear the tracks playing in their heads long after the music has been shut off, and will leave fans slavering for the next new album.
